Join us as pipe organ master Dr Evelyn Lim, together with the Schola Cantorum Sancti Gregori Magni and the Choir of St. James’ Parish of Sydney performs a repertoire of music associated with the Pentecost, an important occasion on the church calendar. Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday and has been observed since the early days of Christianity, marking a time of renewal and growth.
This performance will treat audiences to the glorious sound of ancient Gregorian chants and contemporary choral masterworks performed in the state-of-the-arts acoustics of the Esplanade Concert Hall.
Dr Lim will be performing on Singapore’s largest pipe organ. Built by Johannes Klais Orgelbau, one of the world’s most renowned organ builders, the majestic instrument features 4,470 pipes and 61 stops.
