So much of

The 80s holds a special meaning for many of us. A time when the world was experiencing a culture explosion and economic progress gave hope to people. Everything seemed possible.
In this series of photographs, we revisit forgotten places from the 80s and juxtapose something representative of modern pop culture onto them.
Interspersed with snapshots of these landmarks and memories of various Singaporeans,
we hope to question the effects of progress and change in our society.
We speak so much of memory because there is so little of it left. - Pierre Nora
