Bani Haykal says…

“If there is ever a chance for any individuals to re-imagine sounds, be once again curious about every inanimate or single-dimensional thing we breathe in everyday and believe that life is waiting to happen and reanimate these fabrics of consumerism, revealing multiple facets of truth, Mohamad Riduan has a philosophy to trigger that chance.”

Mohamad Riduan has exhibited and performed in The Esplanade, Furor Space, The Substation and recently collaborated with Rubin Hashim in the Future of Imagination 08 at Goodman Art Centre. He is best known for his works of sound sculpture, performance art and improvised-experimental music. Riduan is also a member of a collective group called OFFCUFF, a multi-disciplinary performance collective focusing on structured improvisation incorporating dual visual projections and dual sound components.

For the 2nd year of The Substation’s Associate Artist Research Programme (AARP), our current batch of Associate Artists will be inviting emergent artists to present their work in a monthly series of lecture-presentations. An expansion to the AARP, There’s Something About Me is a new platform for our Associate Artists to introduce artists whom they personally believe in, and initiate dialogue and sharing within the arts community and with the public about their works.
