Andrew Wyke, a successful crime fiction author, invites his wife’s lover, Milo Tindle, to his grand manor where the play is set.
There, Andrew reveals the side of him that is obsessed with playing games, as he persuades Milo to participate in a staged robbery of his wife Marguerite’s jewellery, which promises to benefit both men financially.
Events spiral rapidly through a series of twists and turns leading to an unexpected unfolding of incidents that challenge Andrew’s forte of game-playing.
Anthony Shaeffer’s classic 1970 stage hit is at once a black comedy, a farce and an astute psychological thriller that will set audiences thinking, questioning and guessing till the very end.
This World-in-Theatre production is the latest in the local theatre company’s mission to bring to the Singapore stage the world’s great classic texts. The company’s previous productions include That Clown Called Tartuffe!, Macbeth, Ramayana, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Elektra and The Gospel According to Mark.
With Andrew Mowatt, Marc Chia and Vincent Chew.
Directed by Sonny Lim.
