American conductor John Nelson returns to conduct the SSO and a combined chorus in perhaps the most widely-known of oratorios - Messiah, composed by Handel whilst he was living in England and which was first performed in Dublin in 1742. Many of the numbers have become familiar favourites, in particular the ubiquitous Hallelujah Chorus.
