Enjoy a variety of classical and folk dances from Mindanao, a region from Southern Philippines. One of the highlights is the Singkil dance. This mystical dance will tell the 14th century tale of Princess Gandingan, who was caught in a forest during an earthquake caused by the fairies of the forest. To this day, royal princesses in the Sulu Archipelago still perform this noble court dance that requires deft footwork – they have to step in and out of crisscrossing bamboo poles with grace and rhythm.
