Inspired by the relentless snowfall in Aomori, Japan, Welsh artist Sioned Huws presents a swirling choreographic work that ties man and nature in a dialogue between traditional and contemporary worlds.

A collaboration with Japanese dancers, the choreography is performed to live music by four musicians from Japan, including traditional shamisen players and a minyo singer.

In sweeping, circular motions, dancers whirl across the floor in an intense choreographic dialogue between the environment, space and the body. Using repetition, floor work, and a minimalistic setting, the artists examine the beauty of landscapes and the invisible terrain mapped out by the moving human body.
Navigating tradition, ritual, and modernity, Aomori Project: Of Landscapes Remembered seeks the spiritual, the physical, and the ritual in a compelling, meditative experience.
