Welcome to the magic circle of the night, where the light of the moon unveils the Dark, and perfumed stars distort our senses. Van Gogh meets Tim Burton. As the birds dream on their branches, the trees sing for them, leaving the wind in silent shivers. The scent of the Song scales the lofty clouds of bliss, pulling the heart along, searching heavenwards for Rest, but in vain.

This September, soprano Lee Peixin and pianist Wong Yun Qi present various ruminations on the world between dusk and dawn – a realm of shadows, mystery and romance. In their first collaboration back home, the duo engages us in an evening of sleepless musings and acid-tinged lullabies, with German art song composers Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss, their French counterparts Gabriel Fauré and Claude Debussy, Benjamin Britten of Great Britain, and, joining the ranks, Singapore’s Americ Goh.

Currently based in Graz, Austria, Lee Peixin began her Bachelor Studies at the University for Music and Dramatic Arts Graz after graduating from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. Now a regular performer, she has studied under Nancy Yuen, Martin Klietmann, Joseph Breinl and Robert Heimann. Peixin is also an enthusiastic advocate of contemporary vocal repertoire.
