Bananarama's achievements speak for themselves: two Band Aid appearances, an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest female group surpassing the Supremes with more charting singles - all of which were international hits. Four of their singles shot to the US Billboard Top 10, including the number one hit 'Venus', and 32 of their hits made it to the Top 40 UK charts.

After all of that success Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward are still here today for the same reason they formed 33 years ago: a singular talent for directing their own fate. It's a career that's seen them write for themselves, style themselves and even occasionally manage themselves, all adding up to a whopping 30 million record sales.

After the string of hits like 'Robert De Niro's Waiting', 'Cruel Summer', 'I Heard a Rumour' as well as 'Love in the First Degree', the singing-songwriting duo started a new chapter in the summer of 2009 with the release of 'Viva Bananarama', an exciting, modern new album with both feet planted on the dancefloor. 2009's new self-penned material is, once again, the result of Dallin and Woodward identifying the right collaborators for the right point in their career. Dallin says "there's still a drive to find the next door to open, the next song to write, the person to work with, the next concert to play."
