Zoomorphic Muses: An Afternoon at the Museum
What would happen if we reimagined some of the fantastic mythical creatures seen on ancient animal-shaped objects and created music that sounds like Debussy’s dreamy "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" on an afternoon at ACM?
Inspired by zoomorphic objects from the ACM collection, musicians from YST’s Text and Music class will unfold a new narrative of ancient animal-shaped objects through music. Through the students' rich musical imagination and creativity, some of these fantastic creatures will be reimagined and brought to life! This project is curated by lecturers Dr Chen Zhangyi and Dr Sara Florian.
In partnership with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), Lunchtime Concerts return to ACM. Pamper yourself with an afternoon of classical music echoing through our halls on Fridays in October and November! This season features an original composition, “Zoomorphic Muses – An Afternoon at the Museum”, inspired by ACM's collection!
