The Society of Tourist Guides (STGS) has teamed up with the National Gallery Singapore to provide 3 free walking tours. A “Golden Veil” links the former Supreme Court and the former City Hall, hence the event theme “Beneath the Golden Veil”.

Join all 3 tours to have a better appreciation of the historic value and conservation efforts in converting the two national monuments – the former Supreme Court and City Hall into today’s National Gallery Singapore.

1) Supreme Court Wing
Through this tour, participants will understand how the former Supreme Court functioned in the past and be amazed at its transformation into a modern art gallery. Enter a holding cell and find out how the accused would be brought to the courtroom. Other secret spaces will also be revealed.

2) City Hall Wing
Participants attending this tour will have a better understanding of Singapore’s history through the architectural design and various sites. Visit City Hall Chamber where key events took place, such as the swearing-in of Singapore’s first prime minister.

3) Building Exterior
Participants for this tours will have an overview of the development of Singapore from the early 19th century till the present. Hear stories of events that have taken place around the former Supreme Court, City Hall and the Padang.
