Artwork hangs passively on walls no more – this May, ION Art presents an auction and exhibition showcasing the works of various artists, with the sole mission of supporting 2,000 impoverished youths across Asia.

Giving Hope – Art & Collectibles for a cause (Auction and Exhibition) brings together the creative works and collectibles of 33 artists, photographers and designers from around the world, with all proceeds going towards the beneficiaries of Project Love Asia Foundation. This year, their focus is on the construction of a new building in Maesot, Thailand, integrating a children's home, training centre and a creative art centre. The new home will potentially house approximately 150 orphans and children.

Artists participating in the exhibition include:
Maitree Siriboon
Born in Thailand, Maitree Siriboon presents a photo series in tribute to the humble buffalo – friend to farmers everywhere across his home country. Once pivotal to building Thailand into a rice-farming nation, the gentle beast is a rare sight on the fields today because of modernisation, as Siriboon contemplates in this series.

Thomas Tham
Peer into the lives of “Muay Thai kids” through the lens of local photographer, Thomas Tham, who spent years documenting how young kids are trained in the art of Muay Thai, often under tough conditions and strict discipline. With some as young as twelve, this series presents a close look at the gritty nature of “Growing in the Rings”.

Pornprasert Yamazaki
Known for his thought-provoking and satirical pieces, Pornprasert Yamazaki consistently puts forth work that raise questions and challenges the status quo. In his contemporary compositions on wood and acrylic, he once again presents a visual feast for viewers.

The list of featured artists is as follows:
Tyco Tat (Canada); Chan Kok Hooi (Malaysia); Aung Kyaw Htet, Phyoe Kyi (Myanmar); Angie Seah, Aiman Hakim, Jimmy Ong, Jino Lee, Justin Lim, Justin Lee, Kaleb Loh, Miel, Steve Chua, Tay Chee Toh, Thomas Tham, Wilfred Lim, William Sim, Yao Khuan (Singapore); Chaiwan Kudapun, Kamin Lertchaiprasert, Kritsana Chaikitwattana, Maitree Siriboon, Naraphat Sakarthornsap, Supamas Taveechotipart, Tawan Wattuya, Thaweesak Srithongdee, Theekawut Boonvijit, Poon, Pornprasert Yamazaki, Witaya Put-Pong, Vasan Sitthiket, Yuree Kensaku (Thailand); Lih Likuan (Taiwan).
