Six up-and-coming artists tell six different stories of their home country, from different perspectives of time. Hailing from Hai Phong in north-eastern Vietnam, Pham Hoang Anh and Tran Quang Huan pay tribute to the traditions of yesteryear through bold, rich shades and intricate details. Pieces on display include Tran’s ‘Sisters by Peach Blossoms’ and ‘Floating Flower Market’. In contrast, the works of Nguyen Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Hai Anh depict iconic scenes of present-day Vietnam. From the ubiquitous bicycle to the everyday man on the street, paintings like ‘Bougainvillea Wall’ offer visitors a refreshing take on the state of Vietnam today. And finally in the selections from Than Trong Dung and Vu Cong Dien, flora and fauna take on surreal, whimsical qualities – as the artists reimagine nature through the lens of the future.
