The Jam Parlour is finally back to Kilo for its last session of 2015. We've missed you and thank you all for your continuous support along this year, it didnt go unoticed!!
Not sure if that could be Xmas coming a bit earlier but The Jam Parlour will treat you with a double bill this month as I am delighted to invite David Howarth and Amy Dabbs.
Super excited to have two of my good mates from UK joining me for this year finale at Kilo Lounge. They both have been on my radar for a while as they have consistently been pushing some quality house music in SG since they arrived. Their experience behind the decks and the locations where they played in the UK speak by themsleves. Both coming from the vinyl culture, you can expect some serious wax to be dropped that night.
Cant' wait :)
DAVID HOWARTH (UK)
After cutting his clubbing teeth in the best clubs in the north of England, Cream, Hacienda, Miss Money Pennys and Wobble to mention just a few Dave realised that music was going to be a big part of his life.
2015 saw the 25th anniversery of Dave buying his first set of 1210s and he’s never looked back. In those 25 years he’s been involved in all levels of the scene from putting on his own nights in Kent to playing for some of the biggest know names in the industry. Most recently being chosen last year to be one of Nic Fanciulli’s 15 dis from around the world to play at his epic 15 hour B2B night in the UK before he up sticks and moved to Singapore.
Never afraid to mix genres or styles, in his own words, “once a good track. always a good track”
AMY DABBS (UK)
With her boundless energy behind the decks and over a decade dedicated to her DJ career, Amy Dabbs has played at some of London's hottest venues, from Egg to 93 Feet East to the London based party she co-runs, Universal Vibes Presents. She has also spun at Alpfresco ski festival in Austria, playing as half of house music duo Another Late One, and most recently has started to carve a name for herself in her new home town of Singapore, playing at venues such as Kilo, Cato and Koi at Haji Lane.
After making her artist debut with ‘Lost City’ on renowned Italian label Rebirth in 2014, and subsequently remixing Violent Romance on Secret Life Music, Amy has continued to evolve and master her own sound over the past 12 months. She recently released an artist EP on New York’s i! Records, which was followed up with remixes from fellow UK producers Death on the Balcony in 2015. Having now relocated to Singapore, and with new releases in the pipeline, Amy Dabbs is beginning to firmly establish a name for herself in the underground house scene.
THE JAM PARLOUR
The Jam Parlour series was created by JB in 2011 with a simple idea: give more exposure to underground DJs/collectives whether they be local or from overseas. Our little island holds many under-rated gems but unfortunately with a bare chance to play so Jam Parlour is here to offer those guys some airtime.
The Jam Parlour experience is all about adopting an open-minded attitude, discovering some new talents, supporting the confirmed ones, exploring real underground musical genres walking away from the beaten paths and immersing one-self into inspirational musical journeys.
JB is hosting new guests at each instalment guaranteeing fresh sounds and eclectic vibes. The favourited media for the gig is vinyl and for a pure analogue sound we use the amazing rotary mixer DJR400 from E&S.
Recipe of the night is simple: no fuss, no dress code, no cover charge, just gathering music lovers around a dancefloor!
