The Final Showcase of Sprouts, Singapore’s first dance choreography competition, is here!
Following a four-month long mentorship programme with established practitioners in Singapore’s dance scene, finalists Denise Lim, Joanne Ong, Dinie Dasuki, Abigail Huan , Cici Chen and Liu Wen-Chun will bring their creative choreography concepts to life in front of a panel of experts from the international dance community.
Organised by the National Arts Council and co-presented by Frontier Danceland, Sprouts is a unique platform designed to uncover and develop Singapore’s upcoming choreographers and aims to deepen the diversity of works and strengthen the voice of the dance community.
Currently in its 6th edition, the winning choreographer will receive a $2,000 cash prize and a Capability Development Grant of up to $3,000 to pursue further training in choreography. In addition, the judging panel will select the Best Dancer, who will be awarded a $500 cash prize. Audiences will also get to have their say as they vote for the Most Popular Work, with the winner receiving a $1,000 cash prize.
