For one night only, ACM After Dark returns this year with more spooky activities inspired by the Ten Courts of Hell in Chinese mythology. Brave hair-raising chambers of torture, and complete wicked tasks to escape from hell at the museum. Listen to haunting tales in the galleries and create special souvenirs to take home. We promise you a night at the museum to remember.
ACM After Dark explores supernatural beliefs, practices and stories from cultures across Asia. Taking place for only one night each year at the Asian Civilisations Museum, this free and family-friendly festival is a fun, light- hearted way to explore intriguing supernatural aspects of the museum’s Asian collection.
Visitors not only relive classic tales inspired by popular local and regional beliefs, but also learn of lesser known objects or stories. Popular activities each year include getting hands-on by creating unique crafts, enjoying spooky interactive gallery tours, and getting customised face painting. Established in 2008, ACM After Dark presents a safe yet exciting way to discover more about Asian beliefs in spirits and the afterlife.
